SHORT EARED OWL
16"X20"
OIL ON CANVAS
AVAILABLE
PRICE $2700 FRAMED

All the owls are beautiful birds, but short eared owls are particularly handsome. They live and hunt in grassy, brushy pasture and fields, and tend to be nocturnal, but you can see them in the mornings and evenings. A fence post is a very typical perch, so they can hear prey with those amazing facial discs. Owls cannot turn their eyes, so they turn their heads (over 180º!) if they want to see or listen in a different direction. Another cool thing about owls is that they have four toes, like all raptors, but they can turn their outside toe backwards, and often stand with two forward, two back.
