I do quite a few portraits of beloved pets. This portrait is of a truly special German wirehaired pointer (Drahthaar), who was owned by my best hunting buddy. I was priviledged to hunt over Brass many times, and he always set a fine standard. As with all great hunting dogs, it was far more fun to watch his outstanding work finding, pointing, and retrieving birds than to shoot. A great old boy.
