This is a painting of one of my best friends, who is an outstanding fly fisherman, hunter, and outdoorsman. I posed him in some "older" gear. I was mainly interested in his reflection in the water surface crossing his bluish shadow falling across the rocky river bottom. It's a relatively complex interaction of colors and values, but always visually fascinating and arresting.
