This painting was commissioned as a gift for a friend who had worked at the Yellowstone Inn many years ago. They wanted the image of the Inn in the winter, after it had closed for the season. I used a lot of photos of the Inn, and chose late morning light, to create some interesting shadows from the gables on the roof. Old Faithful is erupting in the left background.
