This tree holds on at the top of the ridge near where we live. My wife and I walk up there almost every evening. One evening, a bank of clouds was catching the orange light of the setting sun, and it was an irresistable image to paint. I did this painting for Christmastime, hence the title and the Christmas star decorating the top of the tree.
