This image is Mt. Moran reflected in String Lake in Grand Teton National Park. I stood on the bank of this pristine lake and painted this en plein aire, then decided to blow it up in the studio. A large ponderosa is casting its shadow over my shoulder onto the bottom of the lake, and Moran's reflection overlays that shadow. I love to study and paint reflections, ripples, and shadows in water.
